When to hold your annual general meeting and file your annual return, plus the exemptions that may apply to small companies.

Private companies must hold an AGM within six months of the financial year end and file the annual return within seven months. Companies that meet the dispensation criteria may skip the physical AGM if all members agree.

Stay organised

Set internal deadlines that fall a full month before the statutory ones. The buffer absorbs delayed audits, missing signatures and last minute questions from directors.
